Indian wedding card wording and proof checklist
A clear invitation helps every guest understand who is hosting, what is being celebrated, and where and when each function will take place.
Hosts and opening line
Decide whether the invitation comes from the couple, parents, grandparents or both families. Keep the opening respectful and consistent with your family tradition.
Couple's names
Write each full name exactly as it should be printed. Confirm spelling, initials, titles and the preferred order before sending the details for design.
Functions and timings
List each event separately—such as haldi, mehendi, sangeet, wedding and reception—with the correct date, start time and venue.
Venue and directions
Use the venue's official name and complete locality. Add a landmark, map link or contact number when guests may need help finding it.
RSVP and contact details
Mention the family member or coordinator guests should contact, along with a working phone number and the response date if required.
